lEARNING NEW THINGS

Lights, Camera, Action: A Day of Experimentation and Learning

There’s something magical about stepping into the studio with the anticipation of creating something new. Recently, I had the pleasure of experimenting with lights and studio setups alongside the incredibly talented Trav and the equally photogenic Nasira.

The day didn’t start without its challenges. My lights decided they weren’t in the mood to cooperate, which meant I found myself making a few trips back and forth to Christian Photo to get things sorted out. But sometimes, those little bumps in the road lead to the most valuable lessons. Huge shoutout to Trav for stepping in and guiding me through the process. His expertise was exactly what I needed to get back on track, and I’m beyond grateful for his help.

Working with Nasira was an absolute delight. She’s a true natural in front of the camera, bringing such ease and grace to every shot. Watching her come alive as the lights hit just right was nothing short of inspiring.

This experience has sparked a new excitement in me to keep learning and experimenting with lights. It’s not just about getting the perfect shot; it’s about the journey of discovery, the tweaks, the adjustments, and the aha moments that make it all worth it.

I feel incredibly honored to have spent the day learning from one of Iowa’s best photographers. It’s days like these that remind me why I love what I do and why there’s always room to grow.

Here’s to more lights, more cameras, more action, and endless learning!
