A Day at the Lenox Rodeo with Cowhide and Conchos Western Boutique

Attending the Lenox Rodeo is always an exhilarating experience, and this year was no exception. With the dust kicking up and the adrenaline running high, I had the incredible opportunity to shoot for Cowhide and Conchos Western Boutique. The atmosphere was electric, with the rich history of the rodeo adding to the excitement. Founded in 1945, the Lenox, Iowa Rodeo has been thrilling crowds for over 75 years, making it a staple in the community and a must-attend event for anyone passionate about the Western lifestyle.

This time, I was joined by a fantastic group of models who were eager to pick out some of their favorite outfits from the boutique. Their enthusiasm and love for the Western style were evident as they carefully selected pieces that spoke to their personalities, making the shoot a true celebration of Western fashion.

The Story Behind Cowhide and Conchos

Cowhide and Conchos Western Boutique has a special place in my heart. What began as a simple hobby has blossomed into a thriving business, thanks to a shared passion for creativity and craftsmanship. It all started with my daughter and me collecting pretty rocks. We’d spend hours together, tumbling those rocks, and eventually, we began using them in simple jewelry kits. As our skills grew, so did our ambitions. We moved on to working with semi-precious stones and eventually into silversmithing.

Amber, my girlfriend, and now business partner, has been a constant source of encouragement throughout this journey. She’s always had a deep love for painting and various crafts, and as my interest in metalsmithing and turquoise collection grew, so did her involvement. Amber now has her own silversmithing studio and plays an integral role in our boutique. Not only does she create stunning western jewelry, but she also curates our apparel, always ensuring that we offer styles that are unique and hard to find in mainstream stores.

The Shoot

Shooting for Cowhide and Conchos at the Lenox Rodeo was a full-circle moment for me. The models looked stunning in the carefully curated outfits, each piece reflecting the boutique's commitment to quality and individuality. The vibrant energy of the rodeo provided the perfect backdrop, highlighting the rugged elegance of the Western lifestyle that we aim to capture in every piece of jewelry and apparel we create.

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who came out to model and to those who support our boutique. It’s moments like these that remind me of why I love what I do—bringing together the past and present, tradition and innovation, all while celebrating the unique spirit of the West.

Thank you to the Lenox Rodeo for hosting us once again, and to all the wonderful models who brought our vision to life. It’s been a memorable experience, and I can’t wait to do it all over again next year!
